"Saving the World
One Community at a Time"
5 Steps to Our EveryBudi Community Center in Ziru, Uganda
(5 Steps Org is the Fundraising project for EveryBudi Community.)
(Intro)
The EveryBudi Community Center means:
The End of Poverty. The End of Handouts The Beginning of Authentic Community |
We're building Community Centers that could end extreme poverty forever. These centers are designed to empower and help to actualize about 2,500 souls. In many other situations, constant support and donations are needed, however the EveryBudi Community Center is designed to be self-sustaining after its 1 year/5 Phase development period. The Community will benefit from clean water, a stable food source, life skills education, a health clinic, sports and recreation, agriculture, sanitation, communication, job training, jobs, economic networking and more.
Instead of focusing on emergency help, or any single aspect like water, education or food, the EveryBudi Community Center is designed to provide a nurturing environment where almost everything is possible. This makes the project stand out as not only extremely unique, but very effective at transforming lives and even an entire community.
This is Not charity, NOT handouts, and never a cycle of welfare. We instead create a nurturing environment by creating a community center. This will help people in Ziru, Uganda to not only get on their feet but to stay on their feet.

How does this Community Center work?
We're building
Commmunity 2.0 It's different. It's a
complete package of help. It is honestly the best long-term solution.
Clean water is great, but people need that and more.
A greenhouse is great, but people need more than that.
Education is great, but it isn't enough by itself.
An EveryBudi Community Center is designed to address the whole person. Think of it like a healthy home. Food, clothing, shelter, health services, nurturing, guidance, nutrition, mentoring, play and life skills education. People need training for jobs, they need to know how to land a job and how to keep their job.
People need to be empowered to face the world and this can happen at any age - the sooner, the better.
The EveryBudi Community Center is designed to provide all of these things.
Here are some chronic problems in Ziru the people have been struggling to endure.
These children need a Community Center:
Dirty Water |
Unstable Food |
Underfunded Schoolhouse |
Scant Orphanage |
Grueling Jobs |
Poor Sanitation |
Clean WaterThe dirty water issue has been minimized by installing a water pump, but it only serves a few and lacks adequate filtering, storage and availabi
lity.
Emergency food
The local group:
Softhearted Uganda has supported starving families with food whenever possible. But, this is not often enough.
Education
Benson's group has managed to help orphans and kids from struggling families to get a basic education, but funding has always been unstable. So illiteracy is a major problem.
Orphanage
Benson and friends have provided very modest quarters for the orphans. This can be greatly improved by offering the orphans the dignity they deserve and require for a happy life.
Jobs
Most locals work in the quarry. 12 hours per day for 7 days and earn 11usd. Pennies per hour for making small rocks out of big rocks with a little hammer. Not enough money even for a modest diet for 1 person. But 80% of the residents with children alongside them do this work because it is the only work available.
Sanitation Sometimes the inadequate toilet facilities break and people fall and the infections can be lethal from their scrapes and scratches.
The missing Synergy of Community
The lack of a place to meet, to get resources, to trade and to progress has left the village in chronic poverty. It is impossible to develope and actualize when you are barely surviving.
Until now, Benson has proven to be an individual dedicated to the community and sacrifcing for the children, but they need a much stronger support structure. They need help. They need support if they are to support others. This is where the ECC comes in.
The Impact of the ECC?
A Transformed Village
Changed Lives
Clean Water
The EveryBudi Community Center will provide clean, filtered water 24/7 for free of charge for the entire community. No more life-threatening water-borne diseases.
Emergency food/Stable food
The Community Center will include a greenhouse growing fresh vegetables, chickens and chicken eggs, goats and goat's milk, perhaps fish and more. In addition, we will have a small kitchen where people can get a quick snack.
Education
Life skills education will be provided for all members in the community center. hygiene, job training, health information and personal development such as how to be the best version of you. The Community Center will endeavor to fund the SoftHearted Uganda School as much as possible.
Orphanage
The facilities and resources for the orphans will be greatly improved. Recreation facilities of many kinds will always be available at the Community Center.
Jobs
The ECC will not only provide help and support for volunteering at the Center, but job training, job search and job management will be provided.
Sanitation
A major undertaking will be to provide adequate toilet facilities and hygiene at the Center. We also plan to improve facilities throughout the village of Ziru to 2,500 residents.
The missing Synergy of Community
We will provide a place to meet, to get resources, to get support and to build a life. Now, people can develop and actualize and flourish.
